1 lbspicy ground pork sausage

1onion
medium, diced

1 cupcornmeal

½ cupall purpose flour

1 tspsalt

½ tspbaking soda

2eggs
large, lightly beaten

1 cupreduced fat buttermilk

2 Tbspvegetable oil

1 x 15can black eyed peas

2 cupsshredded cheddar cheese

¾ cupcream style corn

¼ cuppickled jalapeño peppers
chopped

1can chopped green chilis
Instructions
Step 1
Cook sausage and onion in a large skillet over medium high heat 5 minutes, until sausage crumbles and is no longer pink. Drain.
Combine cornmeal, Flour, salt and baking soda Stir together eggs, buttermilk, and oil until combined. Add to dry ingredients, stirring until just moistened. ( batter will not be smooth). Add sausage mixture, peas and remaining ingredients to batter stirring well.
Pour into greased 9 x 13 baking dish
Bake at 350 for one hour or until golden and set
