Instructions

For Dough

Step 1
Dissolve the yeast into the hot water
Step 2
Stir the sugar into the yeast mixture
Step 3
When doubled in size (10 min), mix in 1 egg
Step 4
While yeast is rising, cut the butter into the flour and salt
Step 5
Cut until pea sized crumbs
Step 6
Mix in yeast by forming a well
Step 7
Spilt dough in half and roll into a roughly rectangular (12x20) shape on a cloth or paper

For filling

Step 8
Mix cream cheese, sugar, and lemon juice together

For construction

Step 9
Spread half of filling in center of dough (running the long way)
Step 10
Fold over one long side of dough then fold over the other long side, approximately in thirds, so filling is covered

Pinch dough together, and pinch together ends to seal

Dough should resemble a tube
Step 13
Flip dough over onto sheet so seals are facing down
Step 14
With a short knife, slice dough into 1" pieces being careful not to slice through bottom
Step 15
Repeat with other half of dough

Bake on a cookie sheet for 25 minutes at 375 degrees F.
Step 17
Top with sifted powdered sugar and serve warm.
