Southern style mac and cheese!

Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350.
Step 2
Chop bacon into small chunks and cook until desired doneness. Set aside and save some of the bacon fat.
Step 3
Put pasta in a pot of boiling water and cook until al dente (according to package instructions)
Step 4
Combine eggs, milk, sour cream, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a bowl.
Step 5
Drain the pasta, and add in the Velveeta until melted.
Step 6
Once melted, mix in the cheddar and Monterey jack cheese.
Step 7
Once combined, add the bacon
Step 8
Once combined, add in the butter.
Step 9
Once combined, pour in the egg mixture and stir to combine.
Step 10
Use some of the reserved bacon fat to grease a cast iron pan.
Step 11
Pour mac and cheese into the cast iron pan and top with a little more cheese (if desired)
Step 12
Put in the oven for 30-40 minutes. Check at 30 to see if it's set. The top should be firm to touch, but clearly soft underneath.
