Step 1
Preheat oven to 180C, Gas 6.

Step 2
Fry onion in oil for 10 mins until softened, then remove from heat and mix in all remaining ingredients except tomato sauce.
Step 3
Form mixture into 8 balls. Place in shallowproof dish. Pour Italian tomato sauce over nut balls.
Step 4
Bake for 25-30 mins. Garnish with thyme and serve hot.
