Instructions
Step 1
Over medium heat add oil to pan, add onions and saute for 2 minutes or until translucent.
Step 2
Add garlic and stir until very fragrant.
Step 3
Add the spices and stir for 1 minute.
Step 4
Crush the 32 oz can of tomatoes by hand and add to the pot along with their juices and a half can of water. (I use the tomato can for this.)
Step 5
Bring just to a boil reduce heat to med-low and simmer for at least 30 minutes up to 4 hours.
Step 6
Blend all ingredients and adjust seasoning to taste. (I sometimes also add fresh basil before blending .)
