Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
Step 2
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, using a whisk or an electric mixer, beat the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together for 1-2 minutes or until well combined and light and fluffy.
Step 3
Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract and mix until fully combined.
Step 4
Add the flour, baking soda, and salt and mix until the flour is incorporated. Add the chocolate chips and mix again until well combined.
Step 5
Cover with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and place in the freezer for 8-10 minutes.
Step 6
Remove from the freezer and use a 1 tbsp cookie scoop to place the dough onto the prepared backing sheet, leaving room in between each to spread.
Step 7
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the edges of the cookies are lightly golden brown and the tops are set.
Step 8
Allow to cool on the baking sheet for another 5-7 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
