4 steps

The best recipe for Flour tortillas, honestly the trick is in the ingredients. Being from the north of the country of Mexico, I feel very proud that I can share the secret of a really good tortilla.

Instructions

Step 1
Mix the lard until smooth, you can either use your hand or mixer and start adding the flour little by little as well as the salt. You are going to start seeing the drought a little bit flaky.
Step 2
Add the warm water little by little and keep kneading until the drought is not sticking in your hands. Add a little bit more lard in your hands and form a ball, so it has lard everywhere around. Let it rest for 30 min. Cover with plastic and kitchen towel so no air is in contact with the drought.
Step 3
When the time has past, make small balls. The size of this ones will determinate the size of the tortilla. Once you have all the balls, use a tortilla press or a rolling pin to roll the dough.
Step 4
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook 30-60 seconds, until little bubbles appear on the surface. Flip and cook another 30 seconds, or until the bottom is slightly golden. Set on a plate and cover with a towel. Repeat with the remaining dough.
