Ingredients

For the Chopped Steak:
1 lbground beef
1egg
¼ cuponion
minced
2 Tbspparsley
fresh minced
¼ tspgarlic powder
1 Tbspworcestershire sauce
salt
to taste
pepper
to taste
1 Tbspolive oil
For the Mushroom Gravy:
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat an oven to 350°F
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients for the chopped steak, except the oil. Form into 4 oval shaped patties.
Step 3
Heat oil in a large oven safe skillet. Brown the patties on one side for about 4 minutes, or until well browned. Flip the patties and place skillet in the oven to bake for 15- 20 minutes.
Step 4
While the meat is cooking, make the gravy. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium high heat. Add the flour and xanthan gum. Stir and cook for about a minute, to form a roux.
Step 5
Add half of the beef broth to the skillet, whisk and heat for a couple minutes. Add the mushrooms and onions, and cook for about 5 minutes or until tender. Stir in the rest of the broth and cook until sauce has thickened, about 5 minutes.
Step 6
Plate the steaks and spoon gravy over top and enjoy!

If you do not have an oven safe skillet, you can brown the steaks in a regular skillet and transfer to a baking dish, or you can flip them and finish in the skillet over the stove top.
