Ingredients

1 teaspoonvegetable oil

1yellow onion
finely diced
3 x 15.5 ouncecan no salt added pinto beans
rinsed and drained

½ cupno salt added tomato sauce

1 ½ cupswater

½ cupdark brown sugar
unpacked

1 tablespoonyellow mustard

1 teaspoonchili powder

¼ teaspooncoarse ground black pepper

½ teaspoonkosher salt
Instructions
Step 1
Cook onions in vegetable oil until translucent, about 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 2
Add in navy, pinto and northern beans and stir.
Step 3
Add in tomato sauce, water, dark brown sugar, yellow mustard, chili powder, salt and pepper and stir.
Step 4
Bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer.
Step 5
Cook for 45-60 minutes until thickened.
