Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Cream softened butter with both sugars until smooth. Add in eggs one by one.

2. Add vanilla, baking soda, and salt.

3. Mix in the flour one cupful at a time until a dough forms. Then mix in chocolate chips.

4. Form the dough into medium sized balls; this recipe should make about 24.
Step 5
5. Place the balls of dough onto a baking sheet spread at least 2 inches apart each. Lightly press each ball of dough with the palm of your hand or the bottom of a glass. Place in oven and set a timer for 16 minutes. Check after that time and add 2 minutes if not slightly brown. Leave on stovetop to cool for at least 5 minutes.
