Instructions
Step 1
- In a large mixing bowl, combine your melted butter (make sure it's not hot! Or it'll melt your chocolate) as well as your sugars and mix for about 2-4 minutes until well combined (no mixer necessary, just a whisk:)
Step 2
- Next, add in two eggs, one at a time. Then follow with your vanilla extract and milk. Mix until just combined (we don't want to over-mix our batter!)
Step 3
- Now, throw in all of your dry ingredients and fold everything together. (If you find the dough to be a bit tough to mix, you can "knead" it with your hands:)
Step 4
- Lastly, throw in your chopped up chocolate bars - and mix until combined (again, use your hands if necessary)
Step 5
- Grab a standard cookie scoop & scoop out your cookies. This recipe should make about 30-32 cookies
Step 6
- TIP: start off by baking one cookie. Once the cookie sheet is warm from the oven, the second batch will bake differently . So to avoid cookies that bake slightly different- go forward with baking just one cookie for 12 minutes, then bake a full batch the second time around
Step 7
- Bake at 350°f for 12-14 minutes
Step 8
- Fresh out of the oven, sprinkle with flaky salt - allow them to cool until you're able to lift them without them breaking & transfer to a cookie rack
