Instructions

Step 1
Rinse both kinds of rice together. Add water in a 2:1 ratio to rice and cook in rice cooker on white rice setting.
Step 2
Cook chicken in 12-inch sautee pan until nicely browned on both sides.
Step 3
Saute onion, celery, and carrot together with a little oil and salt. Add flour until roux is thickened and smooth
Step 4
Stir in stock and wine a little at a time, whisking until smoothing and simmering. Add chicken. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring often.
Step 5
Add milk, rice, and return to bowl. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. The rice will help thicken up the soup.
Step 6
Immediately prior to eating add salt, pepper, parsley, thyme, and chives.
