Chicken Gyoza’s (Dumplings)

Soft with a crispy crust on the bottom. I have had a really tough time finding halal chicken gyoza’s in the Netherlands. Because of this I figured, why not make them myself?

Instructions

Step 1
Mince the garlic and ginger and chop the spring onions. Add them to the chicken.
Step 2
Add the corn starch, black pepper, baking soda, soy sauce, sesame oil and water. Mix until all the ingredients have been blended in the chicken.
Step 3
I used the Happy Belly gyoza wrappers for this recipe. Add some of your chicken mixture to the wrapper and wet the sides with some water.
Step 4
Heat up a non-stick pan with some oil and add the dumplings to the pan on low to medium heat.
Step 5
When the dumplings have become a bit crispy on the bottom add some water and cover with a lid to let it steam.
Step 6
Keep the heat on low during this process and wait till the water has slightly evaporated.
Step 7
Your dumplings are ready to eat!
