0.5 loafFrench bread
stale, cubed
6eggs
beaten, like a red-headed stepchild
2 ½ cupswhole milk
or oatmilk or half and half
1 tspvanilla
¼ tspcinnamon
0.5 ozbourbon
½ cupsugar
½ cupchocolate chips
2 tspbutter
to prepare the baking dish
1 Tbspflour
for dusting the baking dish
½ cupheavy whipping cream
2 Tbspbourbon
⅛ tspcinnamon
Instructions
Step 1
preheat oven to 350
Step 2
Combine eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, bourbon, and sugar. Mix Well!
Step 3
Add the bread cubes to the mixture. Mix Well until bread is a paste. If too dry, add cream.
Step 4
Butter a baking dish and add floud so the batter doesn't stick too bad.
Step 5
Press mixture into the buttered pan, making certain there are no air bubbles
Step 6
Bake for 35 min until golden brown and risen by 2in
Step 7
(Optional) Serve Hot with Hard Sauce:
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 butter room temp
- 2 Tbsp bourbon
- 1/8 tsp cinnamon
Combine and low simmer for a 3min before serving on top bread pudding
