Batata Harra - Lebanese Spicy Potatoes

“Batata Harra” literally translates to spicy potatoes, but they ain’t your regular spicy potatoes, these are on another level of deliciousness!
This dish is very popular in all middle eastern restaurants, but I promise you will never order them again after making them at home using this recipe! They’re crispy on the outside… soft and fluffy on the inside… coated with loads of flavour…. Just absolutely mouthwatering!

Step 1
Peel, wash & chop potatoes into even cubes.

Completely cover the potatoes with water and ice for 30 minutes.

Heat canola oil and fry potatoes until they’re half cooked.

Set the potatoes aside and allow to cool completely.

Place the potatoes back in the fryer and fry until they’re golden and crispy on the outside.

Crush the garlic cloves.

Finely chop the Coriander.

Heat the Canola Oil in a pan and fry off the a Garlic and Coriander for one minute, add the Chilli Bang Sauce (or chilli flakes) and cook them for another minute.

Add the Potatoes into the pan and gently mix until they’re coated in flavour.
Step 10
Season with salt to taste and some fresh lemon juice.
Step 11
Give them another quick toss and Enjoy with some Lebanese bread 😋
