1 cupbutter
softened

1 ½ cupsbrown sugar
packed

1 cupsugar

2 ½ cupscreamy peanut butter

1egg

1 ½ teaspoonsvanilla extract

2 ½ cupsquick cooking oats

2 cupsall-purpose flour

1 teaspoonbaking soda

½ teaspoonsalt

Instructions
Step 1
In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. Add 1 cup peanut butter, egg and vanilla; mix well. Combine oats, flour, baking soda and salt; add to the creamed mixture. Spread into a buttered 15-in x 10-in baking pan.
Step 2
Bake at 350degrees for 13-17 minutes or until golden brown. Cool slightly on a wire rack, about 12 minutes. Spread with remaining peanut butter. Cool completely.
Step 3
In a mixing bowl, combine the butter, confectioners sugar, cocoa, vanilla, and enough milk to achieve spreading consistency. Spoon over the peanut butter layer then spread. Cut into bars.
