Pumpkin wasn't available in the Philippines, so we used a kalabasa squash instead! Turns out, we liked it better!

Instructions

Step 1
Cut the kalabasa squash in half. Scoop out the seeds with a spoon. Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 min, or until flesh is soft and easily pierced by a fork. Scoop 15 oz (a standard can size) of flesh off of the skin and puree in a blender. Set puree aside.
Step 2
Mix eggs, sugar, cinnamon, salt, ginger, turmeric, and nutmeg. Beatin kalabasa puree and honey. Slowly add evaporated milk.
Step 3
Pour into crust and cover with foil. Bake at 425 degrees F for 10 min. Remove foil and bake at 350 degrees F for 28-32 min, or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Step 4
Cool on a wire rack, then chill in the refrigerator. Serve with whipped topping.
