Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 375 F. Sift together the flour, cornstarch, and salt and set aside.
Step 2
Cream together the butter and sugar for 3-5 minutes on medium speed. Add the egg and vanilla and mix until combined.

Add the dry mixture in two parts and mix by hand with a rubber spatula until the dough comes together.
Step 4
Roll out the dough to 1/8 inch thick between two pieces of plastic or grease paper ad chill for 30 mins overnight.
Step 5
Once the dough is firm enough, cut out shapes with a cookie cutter, and carefully place on a lined, baking tray. A second chill is optional.
Step 6
Bake for 12 minutes at 375 F. Allow to cool completely before decorating.
