Step 1
Preheat oven to 450 F
Step 2
Sift flour, baking powder, baking powder and add sugar
Step 3
Rub the butter into the dry mixture until it resembles breadcrumbs, then gently mix in the buttermilk.
Step 4
Turn the mixture on to a lightly floured surface. Bring dough together quickly and pat into a 7 inch circle about 1 inch thick. Use a 2 inch cutter and place the rounds on a lined baking tray.
Step 5
Brush the tops with milk, and bake until golden brown (about 12-15 minutes).
