Instructions

Step 1
Slice tofu through the middle and dredge in flour
Step 2
Fry garlic until crispy/golden, remove and set aside
Step 3
Fry tofu on both side until browned
Step 4
Combine onion, soy sauce and mirin (and sugar if using
Step 5
Pour sauce over tofu and bring to simmer
Step 6
Garnish with crispy garlic
