Ingredients
10 servings
3 Tbspbutter
+ 2 tbsp for topping
1onion
chopped
8 ozmushrooms
chopped
2stalks celery
1jimmy dean sausage-sage
can oysters
3 Tbsprosemary
chopped
3 Tbspsage
2 cupsrice
cooked
1 tspgarlic powder
1 tspsalt
1 tsppepper
1 bagstuffing breadcrumbs
or own loaf of stale bread cut into cubes
3 cupschicken stock
Instructions
Step 1
Begin by dicing onions, celery, and mushrooms. Place in a medium pot with 3 tbsp butter and saute on medium heat until vegetables are cooked. about 10 minutes.
Step 2
In a separate pan, add jimmy dean sausage and brown on medium/high heat- about 8 minutes
Step 3
for oysters- take out of container and reserve oyster juice. Cook oysters in a pan on low heat. cut with scissor into bite size pieces for stuffing.
Step 4
finely chop rosemary and sage & set aside.
Step 5
In a baking dish or large bowl- add your bread crumbs for stuffing. go in with remaining cooked sausage, vegetables, oysters, and spices. add salt, garlic powder, & pepper. add 1/2 cup oyster juice from container. add in your cooked rice + chicken stock. Mix very well.
Step 6
Melt 2 tbsp butter and pour over stuffing.
Step 7
Bake at 375 for 25 minutes.
