Instructions
Step 1
- Pour ½ cup of Sugar and ¼ tsp of salt into 1 cup of water. Stir until all dissolved- Pour ½ tsp yeast into ¼ cup of lukewarm water. Set aside until the yeast is dissolved.- Pour 2cups of flour into mixing bowl- Add the sugar-salt/water - Add the yeast/water - Blend at medium speed- Pour batter into a mixing bowl, cover and set it aside to rise.
Step 2
Once batter doubled in size, remove the cover.- Add ½ tsp of nutmeg, or ½ tsp of cinnamon or ½ tsp of vanilla. (this is optional)- Heat oil in fryer- Start scooping batter into hot oil (preferably by hand)- Remove beignets once golden.
