Step 1
Step 1: Start with placing the raw bacon in a Dutch oven and cook. Once cooked, remove and retain bacon grease.
Step 2: Add 2 tablesspoons butter, sliced leeks and green onions to bacon grease. Sauté leeks and green onions until translucent. Step 3: Whisk in flour. Once flour is whisked in, add the broth, milk, potatoes, salt, pepper, thyme and sage.
Step 4: Add back in bacon and simmer for about 45 minutes or until the potatoes are cooked.
Step 5: Serve, topped with with cheddar cheese, bacon bits, sour cream and green onions - whatever you choose!
