Pork Stuffed Tofu in Tomato Sauce - Đậu Hũ Nhồi Thịt

Ingredients

Meat fillings
1 lbGround pork
1 cupThread Noodles
soaked, drained, and cut
1 cupBlack Wood Ear Mushroom
soaked, drained and minced
0.5yellow onions
minced
1 TspChicken bouillon powder
1 TspFish Sauce
1 TspSugar
½ tspSalt
½ tspblack pepper
Tomato Sauce
Instructions
Preparing the meat fillings for tofu
Step 1
In a large bowl, add all meat filling ingredients and mix well
Step 2
Cut Tofu into desired square size
Step 3
Gently make a square cut all the way through the tofu in the center (Save center tofu for another dish)
Step 4
Stuffed Tofu with the meat fillings
Step 5
Pan fry the stuffed Tofu on medium low heat until it reaches a light golden brown then set aside
Making the Tomato sauce
Step 6
Heat up a large pan, add cooking oil
Step 7
Once the oil is hot, add the yellow onions and garlic, sautéed until a light brown
Step 8
Add tomatoes, let simmer and cook for a couple of minutes

Add chicken broth
Step 10
Once it simmer, add the cornstarch slurry
Step 11
Seasoned with some Fish Sauce, Sugar, Black Pepper and Chicken Bouillon Powder. Adjust the seasoning to your liking

Add the fried stuffed Tofu to the Tomato sauce, using a large spoon, scoop some tomato sauce and drizzle over the tofu
Step 13
Cover with lid, turn heat to medium low and let simmer for 5-10 or minutes until meat is cook throughly
Step 14
Garnish with chopped green onions and cilantro

Enjoy with rice
