Bacon Florentine Pasta

Ingredients
5 servings
8 ozthin spaghetti
1 tablespoonolive oil
½ cuponions
diced
1 tablespoongarlic
minced
2 tablespoonsbutter
3 tablespoonsall-purpose flour
1 ½ cupschicken broth
1 ½ cupswhole milk
½ cupparmesan cheese shredded
can do half parmesan, half mozzarella
1 lbbacon
cooked to a crisp, and crumbled
sea salt
to taste
black pepper
5 ozfresh spinach
chopped
Instructions
Step 1
Cook pasta according to package until al dente. Drain & set aside.
Step 2
In a large deep skillet, heat olive oil.
Step 3
Add onions and saute until tender.
Step 4
Add garlic and saute until fragrant.
Step 5
Add butter and stir until melted.
Step 6
Sprinkle in flour and cook until flour is golden, about 2-3 minutes.
Step 7
Slowly pour in chicken broth and milk.
Step 8
Let simmer, stirring often until sauce has thickened enough to lightly coat the back of a spoon.
Step 9
Stir in parmasan cheese.
Step 10
Taste and add salt and black pepper to bring out the taste.
Step 11
Add the spinach, and simmer until spinach has wilted
Step 12
Stir in noodles.
Step 13
Plate and sprinkle on the bacon.

Add-ins: capers, tomatoes, green onions, mushrooms or chicken
