Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°
Step 2
With an electric mixer mix together the cake mix, 1 1/2 cups of Dr Pepper, the eggs, oil and vanilla until smooth. Pour into a prepared muffin tin 2/3 way full. Bake 16 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let those cool before icing.
Step 3
Icing: with an electric mixer beat the butter until fluffy. Add in the powdered sugar 1 cup at a time and mix, scrape sides down in between mixing. Mix in the remaining Dr Pepper from the can (should be about 2 tbsp), the cocoa powder and cherry juice. Use a star tip piping bag to frost the cupcakes.
Step 4
Use the vanilla icing on a small round tip piping bag and pipe on the white laces
