Instructions
Step 1
In a clean and dry bowl (or stand mixer) on low speed, beat egg whites, salt, and cream of tartar until foamy.
Step 2
Increase speed to high and add sugar a tablespoon or so at a time, mixing until dissolved before adding more (15-20 seconds)
Step 3
When all the sugar is added and the mixture is no longer gritty add the extract and juice (and any food coloring you choose to use)
Step 4
Bake at 225 for 1 hour
Step 5
When done turn off oven DO NOT OPEN DOOR. Leave until cool 1-2hours
