Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven & skillet to 350 degrees
Step 2
Mix flour, cornmeal, salt & baking powder and set aside
Step 3
Melt butter & combine with sugar, creamed corn, and jalapeno peppers
Step 4
Mix wet ingredients into dry.
Step 5
Add eggs one by one and mix until well blended. Add cheese and buttermilk.
Step 6
Carefully remove cast iron skillet from oven and evenly coat top and sides with canola/vegetable oil. Pour in cornbread batter.
Step 7
Crumble: Combine sugar & flour and cut in butter. Add shredded cheddar. Spread on top of batter.
Step 8
Bake 30-45 minutes until done.
