Instructions

Step 1
Peel and slice apples into 1" cubed pieces
Step 2
Simmer apples in water until soft
Step 3
Use a slotted spoon to remove apples from water. Note: can set apples aside as a topping
Step 4
Add sugars, spices, and vanilla to pot, stir continuously until incorporated and syrup is simmering
