BBQ Grilled Chili Burger

This burger is a beast. Delicious homemade chili poured over a beautiful cheeseburger and topped with onion rings. This burger will be an instant hit… for those who can finish it.

Instructions

For the chili:

Step 1
In a large pan, cook the ground beef on a medium heat until browned.
Step 2
Add all other chili ingredients except lime juice. Allow to simmer for 1-2 hours, stirring every 10 minutes.
Step 3
Stir lime into chili and set aside until ready to assemble chili burgers.

For the onion rings:

Step 4
Follow onion ring instructions. Usually 15-20 minutes at about 390°F/200°C.

For the burgers:

Step 5
Start up BBQ grill and heat to medium-high heat, about 350°F/180°C. Preheat for 10-15 minutes, or until grill has reached target temperature.
Step 6
For beef into 4 evenly sized patties. Apply beef rub to burgers generously on both sides.
Step 7
Transfer patties to grill and cook for 4-6 minutes on each side. With one minutes remaining, place a cheese slice on each burger and cook for a further minute.
Step 8
Remove burgers from grill and leave to rest for 2-3 minutes. Place burgers in buns, pour 2 cups of chili on each burger, add a handful of onion rings, and place bun lid on top.
