Vanilla Cupcakes

Instructions

Cupcake Base

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 170 degrees.
Step 2
Line a 12 hole cupcake tray with your desired cupcake liners.
Step 3
Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. I recommend using an electric mixer.
Step 4
Mix in one egg at a time until fully combined.
Step 5
Add vanilla and mix until combined.
Step 6
Sift in flour and fold gently until combined.
Step 7
Portion the mixture evenly into the cupcake liners. I recommend using an ice cream scoop.
Step 8
Bake in your preheated oven for 18 mins or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Step 9
Allow cupcakes to cool completely out of the tin. This will ensure the liners don’t break away from the cake.

Buttercream Icing

Step 10
Beat the room temp butter using an electric mixer for 10-12 minutes. The butter will become smooth and pale.
Step 11
Sieve in icing sugar in 4 additions. Mixing until well combined each time.
Step 12
Add vanilla and mix for a final time.

Decorating The Cupcakes

Step 13
Using a disposable piping bag and your desired piping tip.
Step 14
Cut the end off your piping bag and place in the piping tip

Fill your bag 2/3 full with your buttercream icing.
Step 16
Pipe a generous amount of icing on top of your cooled cupcakes
Step 17
Finish with some edible decorations or sprinkles of your liking and enjoy
