Step 1
Spread some ghee on the sheet pan
Step 2
Lay the whole package of Fillo dough on the sheet pan and sprinkle 2 tbsp sugar on top

Mix the filling ingredients
Step 4
Spread the filling evenly on top of the dough
Step 5
Sprinkle 2 more tbsp sugar on top
Step 6
Lay the second package of Fillo dough on top and press down
Step 7
Cut the dough into squares using a ruler and a snap off knife

Melt the ghee and butter and pour it on top
Step 9
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Step 10
Bake the baklawa on the shelf that is right on top of the last
Step 11
Bake for 30 minutes ( do not open the oven) keep checking on it every 10 minutes after the 30 minutes
Step 12
It will take from 50 minutes to one hour
Step 13
Make the simple syrup while the baklava is in the oven
Step 14
Take the baklawa out of the oven and drain any excess ghee
Step 15
Pour some warm simple syrup slowly on top of the baklawa
Step 16
Wait at least 4 hours before eating
