Instructions

Filling

Step 1
Peel and wedge 4 apples. Be sure to cut out the core and seeds

In a large saucepan bring water to a boil.

Add apple wedges, both sugars, cinnamon, vanilla, corn starch, butter, and cinnamon.

Boil untill apples are soft and carmel colored.

Let reduce until sauce is thick on medium heat

Remove from heat and refrigerate overnight

Dough

Step 7
Wisk 1 1/2 cups of flour, sugar, salt together
Step 8
Cut 2 sticks of butter into 1/2 inch squares

Blend until flour is coated evenly on the butter

Add ice water 1 tbsp at a time until dough holds with out being sticky

Roll into ball and cut in half

Pie

Step 12
Roll out dough. Using your pie pan inverted and a pizza cutter cut into circle.

Fit and press into pan and bake on 350 for 7 min until crust is hard

Roll out second dough
Step 15
Cut into 1/4 inch strips
Step 16
Using a dinner plate, weave the strips.
Step 17
Flip upside down onto the apple filled pie.
Step 18
Bake for 10 minutes on 350
