Step 1
Preheat oven to 375°f. Grease and flour a donut pan.

Step 2
Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg and salt in a large mixing bowl.
Step 3
Stir in buttermilk, eggs, butter and vanilla; beat until just combined.
Step 4
Fill each well 2/3 full.
Step 5
Bake 10-12 minutes, until the top of the donuts spring back when lightly touched.
Step 6
Cool 5 minutes in pan; invert onto cooling rack and cool completely.
Step 7
Glaze and decorate as desired
