Ingredients

1 cupall purpose flour
1 cupsugar
½ cupcocoa powder
1 tspbaking powder
1 tspbaking soda
¾ tspsalt
1 shotexpresso
½ cupmilk
any variety
¼ cupvegetable oil
1egg
1 ½ tspvanilla bean paste
or extract
½ cupwater
boiling
½ cupunsalted butter
room temp
¼ cupbittersweet chocolate
melted, room temp
¼ cupcocoa powder
sifted
1 ½ cuppowdered sugar
sifted
1 tspvanilla bean paste
or extract
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare a small baking dish with melted butter.
Step 2
Sift together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. After whisking together dry , mix in oil, milk, expresso, egg, and vanilla.
Step 3
Add in boiled water while whisking vigorously.
Step 4
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes.
Step 5
While baking, prepare the frosting by creaming together the butter and chocolate. Fold in cocoa powder and powdered sugar, and mix in vanilla bean paste.
Step 6
When finished baking and cooled, frost or decorate as desired, and enjoy!!!
