Ingredients
6 servings
3 cupswater
2 x 8 oztomato sauce
3 Tbschili powder
1 Tbsdried oregano
1 tspcumin
1 tspsalt
or to taste
1onion
large, white or yellow
4 lbslean ground beef
93/7
1 canchili no beans
wolf brand
1 canfire roasted dice tomatoes
1 canranch beans with jalapeño
1can chopped green chilies
1 pinchground cinnamon
or to taste
Instructions
Step 1
1. Dice onion. Combine in large pot with water, tomato sauce, and all seasonings but the cinnamon. (That goes in last) Bring to a boil over medium/high heat. 2. Slowly drop meat into boiling mix, bits at a time. Your basically boiling the meat in a tomato base. Be sure to stir after every pound added. After adding last meat, be sure that mix comes back up to a boil for 5 minutes at least. 3. Add all canned product at this point. Be sure to combine well. There is no need to drain the diced tomatoes but you can if you prefer. 4. Add in the pinch of cinnamon. Stir well. Bring back to a boil, reduce heat to medium/low, and let simmer for 45 min, stirring occasionally. 5. Be sure to taste the sauce at some point to make sure the flavor is to your liking. Add more salt or cinnamon sparingly. If you had to adjust flavor, let it blend with the flavors for another 10min or so before turning heat off. 6. Serve with your favorite toppings and sides!
