Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 200c / 180c, line a baking tray with baking powder
Step 2
Add flour, chilled butter, baking powder and salt to a mixing bowl and use cold hands to rub to 'breadcrumbs'
Step 3
Add and stir through sugar and fruit, then make a well. It is messy, but pour in milk a bit at a time, using your hands to bring together. Keep adding a bit at a time until a basic dough is formed
Step 4
Form into 6 cylinders about an inch in height. Place on baking tray, well spaced. Brush some milk over the scones.
Step 5
Bake for 15 to 17 minutes
