If there are any parents in the room who have never fed their children McCain's oven chips, would they please make themselves known to the Guinness Book of World Records? Instructions

Step 1
Oven: 200-250C. Peel the spuds, if you wish, slice them around 60-120mm (1/4-1/2in) thick, then cut into batons of the same thickness. Dry on a tea towel and convey to a clean plastic bag. Now pour in oil, at least 25ml per potato. Close off the bag and knead, shake - anything to coat the pieces evenly.
Step 2
Here comes the painstaking work. Dump the chips on the tray(s) and spread them out to separate by at least a chip's width. When they're all in place, sprinkle with salt and put on a rack near the top of the oven. Test after 15 minutes; 20 will probably do the trick. It's not McCain's perfection, but you can eat them without guilt whatever your age.
