Goblin cupcakes
My dad made these every Halloween when I was a kid, and now I delight in making them with my children. The orange-flavored filling adds something special.

3 cupsall-purpose flour
2 cupssugar
⅔ cupcocoa
2 teaspoonsbaking soda
1 teaspoonsalt
2 cupswater
⅔ cupvegetable oil
2 tablespoonsvinegar
2 teaspoonsvanilla
Filling
Instructions
Step 1
Heat oven to 350° Fahrenheit.
Step 2
Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
Step 3
Add water, oil, vinegar, and vanilla.
Step 4
Beat medium speed until well-combined.
Step 5
In a separate bowl, beat filling ingredients until well-combined.
Step 6
Fill paper-lined muffin cups two-thirds full with batter.
Step 7
Spoon 1 level tablespoon filling into center of each cupcake.
Step 8
Bake 20-25 minutes until wooden toothpick inserted into cake portion comes out clean.
