Instructions

Making the Osmalieh Vermicelli

Step 1
Preheat oven - bottom side only on 180 degrees celsius
Step 2
Mix the vermicelli with ghee directly in the oven-safe container. Do not let the vermicelli crack much as you are mixing
Step 3
Spread evenly across the container with a medium thickness layer
Step 4
Place the container in the oven. For around 10 minutes, keep on checking until the bottom side starts to reach the wanted color. At this moment turn on the oven fan or the oven top to make sure the top side gets the wanted color.
Step 5
Once ready, take out off the oven and let it cool

Making the Cream (Ashta)

Step 6
In a pot, mix with a whisk the full-fat powdered milk with the water.
Step 7
Put the pot on high heat and keep stirring the mix for the milk not to clot
Step 8
Once the mix is boiling, with mixing add slowly the semolina flour. Turn the heat to medium-high
Step 9
Keep on mixing for a few minutes till the mix thickens. The mix will not show the desired thickness while on heat, so make sure you do not overboil them
Step 10
Once done, set aside for the mix to cool
