Assembly
Instructions
Making the Macaroni
Step 1
Pour water into a pot and let it heat well (below boiling point, just ready to take in the pasta)
Step 2
Add salt into the water to give taste to the pasta
Step 3
Add the Pipette pasta. It should be this size so the ball doesn’t break
Step 4
Cook the pasta according to the instruction timing on the box. Once cooked (Al Dente), take the pasta out of the pan, and filter the water out
Making the Cheese
Step 5
In the same pot, wait for it to cool off for a minute. Clean it well from the pasta water and put it back on the oven on medium heat.
Step 6
Add the butter and flour, Whisk well and stir for 2 minutes or until the mix is well mixed and started to dry out
Step 7
Add milk, the cheese mix, and salt
Step 8
Stir them well for 1-2 minutes, or till the whole mix melts and is holding together nicely. Use a spatula for this.
Step 9
Turn off the heat and add the pasta to the cheese mix and mix them well for 1-2 minutes.
Step 10
Spread the whole mix into a large Pyrex glass or into multiple smaller ones (or any container that can hold heat you put it into). The spreading should not be thick to make it easier to use later.
Step 11
Once spread well, place the Pyrex in the freezer and let the mix freeze for 1.5 hours.
This would help the making of the shape of the ball stay together and not melt down when making them
Assembling the Mac & Cheese Balls
Step 12
Prepare breading station, in 3 bowls.
Bowl #1: Mix the eggs and milk well together
Bowl #2: Flour
Bowl #3: Brad crumbs
Step 13
Take out the mix from the freezer and cut them with a knife into small squarish pieces. Each piece will represent one mac&cheese ball.
Step 14
Using your hands, take out each piece and with your two palms move the mix around to make it a ball shape. It’s better to make them in not too big, not too small sizes.
Step 15
For each ball, cover it well with flour, then dip it all in the eggs and milk bowl, then cover it well with bread crumbs.
Step 16
Once all is done, you can deep fry them with vegetable oil. Deep fry for around 4 minutes. (Till you get a golden color, plus a little bit more)
Step 17
When removing from oil, fry them out on a piece of tissue paper first for couple of seconds
Plating
Step 18
Prepare the plate in which the mac&cheese balls will be placed in for the whole table. In this plate, pour tomato sauce on it, and then place the balls on top. Tomato sauce is key in giving a beautiful taste to it.
Step 19
Also as extra, you can sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.
Step 20
This meal is best when eaten very hot, so everyone should be ready when it’s done!
