Instructions
Step 1
In a large pan, combine broth and milk and bring to a boil.
Step 2
Stir in dry macaroni.
Step 3
Cook macaroni according to package instructions, about 8 minutes, stirring frequently.
Step 4
Turn heat to low and stir in tomato juice, then add saffron threads.
Step 5
After two minutes, turn off heat and stir in mayonnaise, butter, sauerkraut brine, ground mustard, salt and pepper.
Step 6
Cover and let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
Step 7
Tip: When reheating, stir in a splash of plant milk.
