Instructions

Step 1
1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, and cayenne pepper.

2. Place the chicken wings in a separate bowl and pour the buttermilk over them. Toss the wings until they are fully coated.

3. Dip the wings into the flour mixture, making sure that each wing is fully coated. Shake off any excess flour.

4. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pot over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F (190°C).

5. Carefully add the chicken wings to the hot oil and fry them for about 8-10 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.
Step 6
6. Use a slotted spoon to remove the chicken wings from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Step 7
7. Season the chicken wings with additional salt and cayenne pepper, if desired.

Optional elevate instructions

Step 8
Add 1/2 tsp of smoked paprika for a smoky flavor

Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro or green onions
