Instructions

Step 1
Finely Chop shallots and garlic
Step 2
Fry shallots and garlic on medium heat until golden brown in a small saucepan
Step 3
Add sugar, mirin, vinegar and soy sauce to saucepan and bring to a low boil
Step 4
Mix corn flour and water into a slurry and add to saucepan.
Step 5
Keep at a low boil for 3-5 minutes until sauce starts to thicken
Step 6
Lower the heat and simmer until it reaches your desired thickness
Step 7
Pour sauce through a fine strainer into a bowl/jar to remove remaining shallots and garlic.
