Instructions
Step 1
Dissolve yeast in water, in mixing bowl.
Step 2
Stir in milk, rolled oats, brown sugar, shortening, salt, raisins, half of the flour. Mix with spoon until smooth.
Step 3
Add rest of flour; mix with hand.
Step 4
Turn onto lightly floured board. Knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes.
Step 5
Round up in greased bowl; bring greased side up.
Step 6
Let rise in warm place until double in bulk -about 1½ to 2 hours.
Step 7
Divide dough into 2 parts.
Step 8
Round each into a ball, roll each into an oblong 15x8 shape.
Step 9
Sprinkle with all except 2 tablespoons of the mixture of ½ up sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon.
Step 10
Roll up like a jelly roll, sealing tightly at the ends.
Step 11
Place in 2 greased loaf pans 9×5x2½.
Step 12
Let rise until almost double in bulk- 40 to 50 minutes.
Step 13
Heat oven to 400*
Step 14
Bake 35 to 40 minutes.
Step 15
Brush top of hot bread with corn syrup and sprinkle with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
