Instructions
Step 1
Bring water, sugar and honey to a good boil. Set aside. Cool well.
Step 2
Mix together flour, b.s., ground star anise,coriander, and salt.
Step 3
Pour the well cooled liquid into the dry ingredients and mix well.
Step 4
Butter or grease the baking pan(s) 1 large (14×9) or 2 smaller (9×9) generously and cover with flour.
Step 5
Pour the thick mixture into the baking dishes and bake atv325 degrees F. around 45 min.
Step 6
Test with toothpick for doneness. Cool on rack. While cooling leave pans over taai taai and cover with a cloth, so moisture stays in as much as possible.
Step 7
When cooled, wrap well and put away for at least a week, the taste will be better.
