Step 1
Combine brown sugar and water in saucepan. Heat over medium heat till sugar dissolved. Bring to rolling boil and boil for 3 minutes. Whisk small amount into beaten egg. Stirring constantly to keep eggs from curdling. Pour beaten eggs into brown sugar and whisk quickly to combine. Add vanilla, softened butter and pecans and stir till butter melted. Pour into pie shell and carefully put in oven and bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes. Cool completely to give pie time to set.
