Step 1
In a large pot, lightly brown the butter. Add garlic and simmer slightly. Add tomatoes and tomato paste, stir to combine and bring to a gentle boil.
Step 2
Transfer to your slow cooker. Add basil, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, and onion halves. Cook for hours on low. The onion will breakdown in the sauce, but discard any remaining solids. Serve over your favorite pasta.
