2 cupsflour
1 cupsugar
1 ½ tspbaking powder
1 tspsalt
½ tspbaking soda
¾ cuporange juice
¼ cupmaraschino cherry juice
1 Tbsporange peel
grated
2 Tbspbutter
melted
1egg
well beaten
1 cupmaraschino cherries
diced

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350. Grease 9x5inch loaf pan.
Step 2
Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda in a medium sized mixing bowl.
Step 3
In a smaller bowl, mix together orange juice, orange peel, butter, egg. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients. Mix until blended.
Step 4
Stir in cherries and nuts. Bake for 35 minutes, then remove from oven, cover with foil, then bake for another 15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool on rack for 15 minutes

Bring cream cheese to room temperature, either by letting it sit out for a while, or microwaving.
Step 6
Sift confectioners sugar through a sifter or fine gauge strainer so there will be no lumps.
Step 7
Beat cream cheese, sugar, and cherry juice until smooth. Add minced cherries.
