Step 1
Wash, cut and hull strawberries. Whisk the cornstarch and water together until dissolved. Place all ingredients plus cornstarch mixture into a saucepan. Using medium heat bring almost to the boil stirring, then simmer for 5 minutes stirring occasionally until cooked. Using a jug, scoop out about 1 quarter of the mixture, blend until smooth and return to the pot. Leave strawberry pieces or blend the entire mix for a smooth sauce. I prefer leaving strawberry pieces in the sauce.
